Goals and objectives appear well-defined and manageable within the grant year. Reviewer would like to see more detail regarding project implementation and operating schedule. For example, the impact statement mentions 61 programs that have been planned--how is the work flow managed? The marketing methods as outlined utilize current technology well.

It would be helpful to see specific numerical or percentage goals for increasing numbers of visitors and tour participants but overall goals are well laid out. The Society has a nice list of partners but it would be good to have more specific examples of how partnerships are beneficial. Emphasis on developing younger audiences is positive. No debts; capital campaign for structural improvements well along. Admissions revenue doubled over last couple of years. City and County grants suggest fiscal sustainability if these are maintained going forward. |

The Ormond Beach Historical Society is seeking general operating support to operate the Mac Donald House Museum and Welcome Center, the Anderson-Price Memorial Building, the Hotel Ormond Cupola and the three Chimneys Sugar Mill & Archaeological Ruins.Their mission is to memorialize the history of Ormond Beach with exhibits and education outreach. It seems one of their great assets is only open to the public from T-Sat 10:00 - 3:00. If one of their goals is to increase visitorship, perhaps reconsidering hours of operation? There is no understanding of the Timeline. I wonder if there is a collection/acquisition policy or guidelines in place. One is not referenced. For this organization, they are projecting reasonable goals and objectives. Their programs are ambitious for this size of an organization, with 50 to 60 events in a year's span. The use of Constant Contact seems to be very helpful and use of digital/electronic communication wise. Partnerships are in place and attention being paid to their website. They are aware of the need to diversity their audiences and programming for greater impact. There support seems to be diversified with funds generated and donated from private and public sources. They are debt free, and are looking for capital growth and campaigning to restore and enlarge one museum, and roof repair to the Anderson Price Building referenced earlier in the grant, although neither are projected in the next fiscal year budgets. Fiscal year budgets are modest and balanced. Accessibility is limited in one of the historic sites (Sugar Mill Ruins), but video technology provides for access to this location; all other sites are accessible. |
