McCarty Alison - Score: 79.000
Objectives and evaluation do not have a measurable component. Programming description and activities are not clearly described. There is no staff person for accessibility compliance or self-evaluation completed. Support materials do not provide documentation of the project activities.
Monroe Pamela - Score: 76.000
  • Some objectives are not clearly defined as measurable.

Parrish Stone Christina - Score: 80.000

Need to develop more meaningful partnerships

For evaluation:  need to solicit input / evaluations from participants

How are number of participants and participating professional artists determined?

Need to complete 504 evaluation

200 members - present book festival

Grant request is for marketing and no examples of marketing are provided.  Need to add support materials

Rusnak Jeff - Score: 85.000

Was hoping for impact numbers in Objectives section, but seemed repetitive of the goals section. This would give context to how the number of individuals engaged (7,090) as broken down by adults and K-12 youth was reached.

The Organization History repeated the Project Description section.

Grant would benefit from giving examples of participating writers.

Tanna Mira - Score: 63.000

WAG provides an important support group that engages a large community of writers in Gainesville. WAG should be proud of the work they have accomplished as a volunteer-run organization. They host an impressive number of activities to benefit their members. I would suggest that they apply again next year and keep the following in mind to strengthen their application:

(1) Review the Section 504 Self-Evaluation or Abbreviated Checklist prior to next year's grant deadline, assign a person to be responsible for accessibility compliance and place information about your non-discrimination policy on your website.

(2) Provide attachments that showcase the quality of writing generated by WAG, such as a pdf of Bacopa. This is especially critical because many of the writers are self-published, making it difficult for reviewers to assess whether the programming is exemplary.

(3) Indicate clearly how many people from the general public attend each event, and share information about how attendees are impacted. Arts & Culture funding is intended to make the arts  of the highest quality accessible to a broad range of the public, and not to simply further the interests of a member-based organization.

(4) Attend the Division of Arts & Culture webinars and review highly ranked applications to help you strengthen your application.

West-White Clarissa - Score: 67.000

No 504 self evaluation, no person assigned for compliance

Measurable goals not included. Objectives repeated several times.

Unclear when and how K-12 and under 18 participants will engage with proposed events.
