Instead of just saying "increase partnerships" or "attendance" I would like to see a percentage increase that means success to you. Could you give more of an example of how these partnerships benefit your festival on future grant proposals? In impact- can you provide the name of the company that handles your marketing. Your marketing section needs more information. Which tv and radio stations are you using? How many press placements do you receive? Would love for you to have included the festival's economic impact in Marathon. When was your 504 Self Eval completed? |

Reviewer would like to see greater detail in evaluation section. How will evaluation guide future strategy and operations? Reviewer would like to see far greater detail in Accessibility section. What about other forms of accessibility beyond ADA compliance? |

The proposal would be strengthened by including measurable outcomes for the objectives provided, e.g. Increase partnerships by adding X local business and organizations by (date); to increase attendance by X percent (from A to B) by (date). Good diversity of persons served. An economic impact statement is missing. You may use the Americans for the Arts economic prosperity calculator for this, if you don't have the data. | |

Objectives should be measurable and provide clear targets Activities are not mentioned as they should be in this section Should impact numbers and participation numbers include people who see web advertising? I don't think so. Is the attendance 8020 or 6000? Proposal impact would benefit from data and quantification Marketing and Promotion needs more detail Evidence that it is well known and respected as one of the best festivals in the country? lacking data, these claims feel empty. No evidence of excellence beyond support materials and attendance. Evaluation needs to be deeper. The response in this section is primarily about marketing Proposal Budget - shouldn't this be a full project budget? Proposal Budget - this proposal shows $50,000 in Programmatic, but there is not $50,000 in the organization budget for programmatic Need more info on Accessibility When was the 504 completed? The application states that 25% of participants are African American/Black, but there is no one in any pictures fitting this description Letters of support from the City Manager and the County Mayor are identical. They also both mention 4000 - 6000, so 8020 attendees seems to overstate Overall, I think the Festival has a place, I just don't think this proposal puts forth the evidence and the details to decide in favor of taxpayer funding |
