Great programming with outreach to underserved populations. Keep up the excellent work! There is a large jump in administrative personnel from last fiscal year to next. What do you attribute this to? In future applications, I would explain such a jump in the narrative. |

Enjoyed your website. The strong verbs in your site navigation system (supported by strong, clean visual images) give a the impression of an active, vibrant organization from the get-go. The range of your programs is impressive, and the partnerships you have developed to support them are persuasive. Particularly striking are the student film programs, the Veterans outreach programs, and the Alzheimer's programs, administered in tandem. You pay impressive attention to demographics in assessing your impact. Have you considered making the diversity you value more evident on your website? Beware of "impact creep." In the first statement of last year's attendance numbers I find 155,000; in the second I find 160,000. The first number impresses me; the second one makes me wonder ... Two different numbers stick in my mind relative to artists, too. In the opening summary, I find 500 artists directly involved; in the narrative, "more than 200" artists are mentioned. Coordinating those numbers would be helpful. I found this passage particularly well-stated, and strongly convincing: "All children should have a chance to see and experience great masters of art, explore the wide varieties of artistry and music, and tap into their own creativity. The ultimate goal of the outreach programs is for students to see and express themselves and their worlds in new ways, to learn to accept different interpretations, and to gain the confidence to be creative in their own way." The organizational history is wonderfully well-written. The organizational chart shows the President wearing many hats. Are you happy with that -- or are you taking steps to add more managerial talent? There are spikes in the budget that it would be helpful to clarify -- perhaps in a note under Sustainability. |

E: Clear direct relationship between mission and programming; veteran focus is important, but raises concerns about training and expertise on staff to serve that population; clear, strong partnerships.
I: Generally strong; outdated demographic data.
M: Somewhat light sustainability statement; evaluation partnership with UCF is impressive and adds strength.
A: Complete and up to date. |

You have a wonderful website. Informative and easy to find things to do in the community. Your outreach to underserved groups is admirable.
You accomplish a lot on a relatively small budget. I wish I had a bit more information on the two areas (personnel costs and "remaining operational expenses") that aren't consistent year-to-year. |

Excellent application! Programs are strong and fully support their mission - "art creating community". It is impressive how their outreach activities reach veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities or socially challenged. In regards to the Operating Budget Summary, I was just wondering why the Remaining Operating Expenses in Next Fiscal Year was reduced by 5 times compared to previous year. | |
