Questions about funding 3 part-time administrators; appears to align with expense for operational budget. Is FMU hosting? If so, what is commitment? |

You should survey more than demographics and whether new cultural information was introduced. I've seen Alvin Ailey's Revelations at least six times and I never tire of it. You could also ask how the events foster community identity and how they bring diverse groups of people together, for example, especially since this seems to be a goal. You have a terrific list of artistic traditions and artists. I like the Travel Give-Away connection. Such a good idea to partner with Jackson Memorial Health to potentially reach underserved attendees. It's clear to me that this organization is doing good work. Marketing looks strong. Pleased to see there are discounts for some activities. The organization does all this with one part-time staff member? Impressive! Seems like a lot to request 30% of budget. Seems like there should be more unkind match. Accessibility could be improved. For example, it would be good to know how you accommodate hearing impaired people. Would also like to know about efforts to reach out to disabled people in workshops. Thanks for the support materials. They caused me to "up" my score. |

Excellent breakdown of goals, measurable objectives, and program activities. Impact section is also strong. Economic impact section could be strengthened even more by providing more detail about the festival (since the proposal focuses on this component of the organization's offerings), including information about how many people benefit from discounted tickets as well as vendor sales at the festival. Also, for those initiatives mentioned outside of festival programming (school programs, music and dance classes, etc.) you can note which programs are free and low cost. Excellent marketing plan breakdown. Excellent evaluation breakdown. Could add more information about indicators of success in evaluations. Management and Operating Budget: Projected expenses have increased in comparison to the previous 2 years. Use the Additional Operating Budget Information section to describe increases in expenses. Accessibility: I appreciate the inclusion of on-going efforts to improve accessibility plans for the festival.

The proposed activities are extensive and well-rounded. Excellent narrative and work samples. I love this project's attention to the role traditional arts can play in providing a holistic space to talk about health as well. An area of suggestion for strengthening this already strong application: the section on impact could focus a bit more on the specific proposed event rather than the organization's overall impact. |
