Good explanation on how Indian music differs from Western music.

Goals and objectives are well stated.

Good explanation of partnerships, giving specific examples.

I'm pleased to see the work you have done with diverse audiences. THANK YOU!

Impressive marketing. Strong evaluation history and plan.

ACA does a lot on a relatively small budget.

Cash match exceeds funding request.

I'm happy to see the increase in black audiences.

There's a significant clarity issue. Are workshops, education programs, lectures, and exhibits included in the scope of this funding request? These initiatives are mentioned throughout, but only the 3 performances are listed in the initial description and timeline. There are 6 total proposed events listed in the second section, but only 3 events are described in the first section. I think once this is cleared up, the application can receive a higher excellence score.

Goals and objectives are very clearly stated and well organized. I appreciate the background information on oral transmission of traditional knowledge.

Could benefit from including a more detailed project timeline.

Impact: Section could benefit from including information collected in surveys about tourists and number of outside visitors. I appreciate the inclusion of next steps in terms of marketing goals. I'm still unclear about exactly which programs are being proposed.

Evaluation section is strong and demonstrates that the organization is responsive to participant feedback. Visitor satisfaction of the programs themselves in regards to quality, educational value, etc. does not seem to be addressed in participant surveys. If true, why not?

There is a significant increase in cash expenses compared to the two previous years. What are the reasons for the increases in expenses for personnel, outside fees and services, and marketing? I think once this is cleared up, the application can receive a higher Management score.

Accessibility: Can include more information about how concerts and performances are made accessible for people with disabilities.

Minor spelling errors throughout.

Siegel Virginia - Score: 93.000

This proposal's weakness is the overemphasis on the "import" of artists outside Florida with less explicit detail about how/if these programs will incorporate local artists and performers into these presentations as well.  There is a nod to holding workshops alongside the three performances and an overarching goal to develop a local troupe, but this application does not give as many details on that aspect.  Where will this proposed project year's workshops be held and who are the audiences?  College or elementary age students?

The budget also includes a significant amount of funds for musicians, dancers, and vocalists, but it doesn't make explicitly clear if these are local performers or not.

A stronger application would emphasize how this specific project incorporates and benefits the local Asian community of artists first and foremost, and then secondarily talk about why the import of artists is crucial to this.

Note that the proposal description emphasizes goals and objectives and less the individual activities that will comprise this grant request.
